Sail along the southern coast of Sri Lanka, stopping along the way at the old trading fort of Galle, remote beach towns, and the fishing village of Kudawella. When your land-locked feet get a little tired, there’s plenty of time for snorkelling, surfing, and enjoying the beach. Day 1: Mirissa:
Arrive in Mirissa to meet the group and skipper for a welcome meeting. Set sail, relax on board and get to know the other travellers. Enjoy a sunset dinner near Snake Island.
Please note: While it is always the intention to adhere to the route described, there is a certain amount of flexibility built into the itinerary and on occasion it may be necessary, or desirable, to make alterations. On Day 1 of your tour you will be advised of any amendments.
Sailing Welcome Meeting 16:00: Welcome aboard! Before setting sail meet the skipper and the rest of the group at a welcome meeting. Your skipper should be easy to spot in a G Adventures shirt or with a G Adventures flag at the skipper table.

Day 2: Weligama Bay/Galle:
Watch for whales and dolphins on the way to Galle, then spend the afternoon relaxing on the beach, exploring the city and Dutch Fort, or diving in the bay.
Relax and enjoy your time onboard the catamaran. Read a book, go for a dip, and enjoy the wind through the sails. Upon arrival at Galle, opt for diving, or explore the City and Dutch Fort.
Optional Activities – Day 2: Visit the Galle Fort, a 16th-century fort first built by the Portuguese, and later occupied by the Dutch. The ramparts are still standing even after being battered by Mother Nature, including the 2004 tsunami. Explore more of the beautiful capital, taking in the Dutch architecture and lively atmosphere. The Dutch Hospital shopping complex is a great place to scoop up some souvenirs.
Day 3: Galle/Kudawella:
Cruise along the southern coast to Kudawella, enjoying the scenery and visiting isolated beaches to snorkel, swim, stand up paddle board (SUP), or kayak. Keep your eyes peeled for dolphins and whales along the way.
Day 4: Kudawella/Welipatanvila:
Opt to visit the Hummanaya Blowhole, before continuing up the coast to Welipatanvila. In the afternoon, opt to visit the Kalametiya Bird Sanctuary, or Ussangoda National Park, then end the day with a barbecue on the beach.
Relax and enjoy your time onboard the catamaran. Read a book, go for a dip, canoe, stand up paddleboard, or get out an explore the natural wonders of this remote coastline.
Optional Activities – Day 4: Kalametiya Bird Sanctuary visit: Enjoy a relaxing time on a guided canoe excursion in the Kalametiya Lagoon, on the lookout for the 150 bird, 38 reptile, or 20 mammal species.
Day 5: Welipatanvila/Tangalle:
Continue exploring the endless beaches of Sri Lanka’s southern coast, stopping to swim, kayak, and catch a glimpse of the marine life.
Tonight you will stay in either Tangalle or Dickwella, depending on the conditions.
Day 6: Tangalle/Mirissa:
Arrive back in Mirissa and opt to dive, surf or enjoy a night out with the group.
Day 7: Mirissa:
Sail back to the Mirissa Harbour and disembark. Tour ends on arrival.
