JA Manafaru

Another superb island we have visited. There are relatively few villas for the size of island so it is very private. This island mixes a bit of luxury with traditional architecture and plenty of wood in the villas. But style seekers fear not as there are contemporary fixtures and fittings. The plunge pools are relatively small but lovely to relax in. The main pools are stunning too. Ultimately it is authentic Maldives at its best.

Food and Beverage is superb both in quality and the various settings around the island. The wine cellar underground was quite a pleasant surprise and it was like being in Italy. The spa was a dream. There is a house reef at the end of the pier but some of the uninhabited islands had some of the best snorkelling I have seen in the Maldives. The seaplane transfer is relatively long but for the moment (November 2015) the island has its own direct service and it is amazingly scenic.

JA Manafaru has 84 villas including six different types from sheltered Beach Bungalows that nestle in tropical growth to Water Villas with expansive ocean views. Each has a king size bed and Sofa bed, complimentary WiFi, complimentary daily water and fruit , a dedicated host, mini-bar, a selection of tea/coffee, and more.

Beach Bungalow with Private Pools are just a few leisure steps to the beach and surrounded by tropical greenery. Spread over 150 square metres, the spacious living, seating and sleeping areas connect with nature through the use of dark wood and grey stone. Your open-air bathroom leads to an inviting sundeck, where a private pool, daybed and two sun loungers beckon.

Sunrise Water Villas with Infinity Pools are over the water offer vistas across the Indian Ocean can be enjoyed from multiple vantage points. The high ceiling adds to the airy atmosphere and you can observe the exotic marine life through a glass panel in the floor.

One Bedroom Beach Suites with Private Pools are larger and have a remarkable amount of space both inside and outside. In addition to a separate bedroom, large living room and outdoor deck with seating, there is also an open-air bathroom with a rain shower and i-Spa bathtub.

Grand Water Two Bedroom Suite with Private Infinity Pool is an exclusive villa at the end of the pier with a large living room opening onto a deck with an infinity pool. This faces north water towards the uninhabited islands of Medhafushi and Govvafushi but is large so has plenty of sunshine through the day. There are two large bedroom suites on either side of the living room.

Royal Island Two Bedroom Suites with Private Pools – Complete privacy, an impressive pool, sauna, steam room and even an exclusive spa treatment room are some of the features. This luxury two-storey beach residence covers an area of 600 square metres, with two bedrooms, outdoor bathrooms featuring i-Spa facilities, private sundeck with loungers and daybed. The is the option to have a 3 Bedroom Suite with Private Pool that can sleep up to 8.
