Our Opinion

La Gemma dell’Est is a stunning 24 Hour All Inclusive Resort on Nungwi Beach in Zanzibar. Clients have always rated this resort highly under the Diamonds Brand and now it is in the equally excellent Riu Hotels portfolio. This is classic Zanzibar!

Location

La Gemma dell’Est is located on the Northern tip of Zanzibar, in Nungwi. This is about 55 minutes from Stone Town and 65 minutes from the airport.

Accommodation

Each room is simple but stylish with an infusion of modern and coastal African themes. Rooms have air-conditioning & ceiling fan, mini-bar, canopy beds, satellite TV, and marble bathrooms.

Standard Rooms – have Sea-facing terrace with garden access.

Junior Suites – these are larger and offer a separate living room and kitchenette.

Restaurants and Bars

Pavilion Main Restaurant – indoor/outdoor dining with lavish buffets served for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Special theme nights are organised on a weekly basis.

Terra e Mare Italian – Al fresco pizzeria on the beach serves fresh pizza, salads, aperitif, selected wine and refreshing drinks. Open for dinner only.

Sea Breeze A la Carte Restaurant over the Sea – fresh seafood cooked and served in romantic atmosphere is located on Makuti Wharf.
