Fihalhohi
Fihalhohi is a lush and green island located at the south end of the South Male Atoll. The island remains natural with hundreds of coconut palm trees fringed by white sandy beaches.
The island is surrounded by a coral reef for excellent snorkelling. Fihalhohi has a main restaurant featuring a wide range of cuisines plus a snack bar and two bars.
Our Opinion
This is a simple island that defies all the odds. Frankly it might be one of the lowest priced island in the Maldives, but this simple 3-star gets excellent reviews all the time. Nothing else touches it for value for money. Snorkelling is outstanding.
Location
Fihalhohi is at the lower west end of the South Male Atoll approximately 28kms from the airport. Transfers take around 1 hour by speedboat.
Accommodation
There are 150 rooms on Fihalhohi all steps from the beach or overwater.
Room types:
Classic rooms sleep up to 3 adults or 2 adults and 1 child with twin beds, air-conditioning, terrace and limited sea view. Classic rooms are situated beside the beach and have bathroom with shower, ceiling fan, mini-fridge, telephone, hairdryer. These are in small bungalows
Comfort Deluxe rooms available sleeping up to 3 adults or 2 adults and 1 child with twin beds. Facilites as above plus have bath, air-conditioning included and balcony or terrace and limited sea-view. These are in larger blocks and have a higher level of decor.
Water Bungalows sleeping 2 adults are located around the island in single or two-story blocks. Rooms are spacious with steps directly into the ocean from your balcony. Due to the location of these, over water, we do not accept bookings for guests under 12 years of age. Miniumum age for Water Bungalows is 12 years.
Restaurants and Bars
Palm Groove – serves a buffet breakfast & light buffet lunch. Dinner has a variety of themes throughout the week.
Fisherman’s Bar – this is the hub of activity on the island. There is light evening entertainment
The Coral Cove – is a snack bar with light food and sweets
The Surf Cafe – offers a menu of salads, sandwiches, hamburgers, pizzas and other light meals throughout the day
The Blue Lagoon Bar – a serene beach bar, just the sea, the sand and a variety of thirst quenchers.
