The Kili Safari is a popular safari for families, with no age restrictions for children at the lodges. This short itinerary provides an exciting overview of Kenya and visits Amboseli, Lake Naivasha and the world-famous Masai Mara, all of which host an abundance of mammals and birds.

Full Itinerary
Day 1 Saturday Heathrow – Nairobi
Fly from Heathrow overnight to Nairobi.
Day 2 Sunday Amboseli
Transfer to the Somak Safari Lounge, where you can freshen up and store any additional luggage before departing for Amboseli (250 km – approximately 4 hours). After lunch enjoy an afternoon game drive. Overnight: Ol Tukai Lodge. (L,D)
Day 3 Monday Amboseli
An early morning game drive in this popular national park with the spectacular backdrop of Mount Kilimanjaro. Enjoy breakfast at the lodge with time to relax or take a dip in the pool. After a leisurely lunch enjoy an afternoon game drive. Overnight: Ol Tukai Lodge. (B,L,D)
Day 4 Tuesday Lake Naivasha
After breakfast drive to the beautiful Lake Naivasha, arriving in time for lunch (350 km – approximately 5 hours). The rest of the day is at leisure, maybe take a dip in the pool, catch up on some reading, or just soak up the sun. Overnight: Lake Naivasha Country Club. (B, L, D)
Day 5 Wednesday Masai Mara
After an early breakfast depart for your journey to the Masai Mara Game Reserve (270 km – approximately 5 hours 30 minutes). Afternoon game drive. Overnight: Keekorok Lodge. (B, L, D)
Day 6 Thursday Masai Mara
Enjoy an early morning game drive followed by breakfast at the lodge, or take an early morning balloon flight over the Mara followed by a “bubbly” bush breakfast (optional extra). Later take an afternoon game drive. Overnight: Keekorok Lodge. (B, L, D)
Day 7 Friday Extension or Heathrow
Return to Nairobi (300 km – approximately 6 hours), or fly from the Mara to Nairobi: morning flight (from £170); lunch in the Mara and afternoon flight (from £240). Proceed with your chosen extension or return to Heathrow. (B)
Alternatively, fly directly from the Mara to Mombasa, including lunch in the Mara (from £370). (15kg luggage allowance on all light aircraft).
Extensions
Complement your Kili Safari with a beach stay on the Kenya Coast, Zanzibar, Seychelles or Mauritius. Gorilla trekking in Rwanda or Uganda is a superb addition to a safari.
Lodge Information
Amboseli: Ol Tukai Lodge – Situated at the foot of Mount Kilimanjaro, the lodge is made of wood, local slate and stone, blending into the African savannah. The lodge has a restaurant opening onto a verandah, a lounge and two bars. Leisure facilities include a swimming pool and table tennis. There are 80 rooms with en suite shower, telephone and safe.
Lake Naivasha: Lake Naivasha Country Club – Set in 30 acres of green lawns with acacia and pepper trees, this old colonial style property offers comfortable accommodation. The main area includes a lounge with fireplace, bar and alfresco dining. Leisure facilities include a swimming pool and pool bar. There are 42 en suite rooms and 8 cottages.
Masai Mara: Keekorok Lodge – One of the first lodges in the Masai Mara Game Reserve. Offers a main restaurant serving international and local delicacies, three bars including the Hippo Bar, a cafe and a TV lounge. Leisure facilities include an outdoor swimming pool. 87 rooms, 10 chalets and 2 suites with en suite bath and private balcony.

Mara Ballooning Option
An exciting alternative to your morning game drive. Up before dawn and drive to the balloon launch site. After the balloon is inflated, climb aboard and sail away on an exhilarating flight for about an hour. A “bubbly” breakfast with all the trimmings is served where you touchdown.
