Mirihi
Mirihi is an emerald gem is just 350 meters long and 50 meters wide with a sparkling palm-fringed beach of fine white sand. Walk barefoot if you choose, this is as close to nature as you can get. Blessed with white talc beaches, turquoise blue waters and one of the most amazing house-reefs, it is truly a vision of paradise on earth.
The term “Mirihi” refers to the small exquisite yellow flowers found around this beautiful island. According to local folklore, the flowers can be used to ‘take away the poison’.
Our Opinion
This island is one of those ‘less heard of’ places. Moreso because it only has 36 villas and it is often full and hard to get a room at unless you book early. We’ve not been yet ourselves but would jump at the chance to see this legendary island with its sensational house reef. Also, it has been near the top of the reviews for years. Note that Mirihi is not all inclusive and if price or budget is an issue, it might be another island you are looking for. You are paying in part to be one of the few that get to enjoy this slice of paradise. BUT – this desirable island is worthy of every penny.
