Location
The Residence Zanzibar is locator on the South West coast of Zanzibar with a mile-long powdery white sand beach. Located just 55 minutes from the airport and the capital Stone Town. The village of Kizimkazi, famous for its dolphin Safaris is just 20 minutes away.
Accommodation
The Residence has 66 luxuriously appointed villas with contemporary, stylish furniture reminding guests of the island’ African and Omani heritage. Each offers satellite TV, CD/DVD player in the living room, mini bar, direct dial telephone, hairdryer, mosquito nets, personal safe, tea and coffee making facilities, broadband internet access, air-conditioning and overhead fans in the living room and bedrooms.
The main feature is waiting on the deck outside, a private swimming pool (30 – 35 m² and 1.2m deep), wicker chairs and day beds to relax in and enjoy the views. Bicycles are provided with each villa to explore the gardens and local area.
Luxury Garden Pool Villas – 155 m² with deck & pool (99 m² villa only) – Set in the lush gardens surrounded by tall coconut palms, these beautifully appointed villas feature a large living room leading onto a private deck with table and chairs, one day-bed, a couple of sun loungers with parasol and a private pool. The bedroom has a central, canopied king-size bed, with French doors leading onto the deck and pool, with views over the gardens. They can accommodate up to 3 adults and a child, or 2 adults and 2 children.
Luxury Ocean Front Pool villas – 155m² with deck & pool (99m² villa only) – These villas have the same lay out as the Luxury Garden pool villas, and give directly onto the beach and the Indian Ocean beyond. They can accommodate up to 3 adults and a child, or 2 adults and 2 children.
Prestige Ocean Front Pool villas – 194 m² with deck & pool (97m² villa only) – Set directly on the ocean’s edge, these wonderful one-bedroom villas offer breathtaking views of the ocean from every room. The living room and bedroom both have French doors leading to the deck and pool area, but perhaps some of the best views are appreciated from the freestanding bath, which offers an uninterrupted seascape panorama. A separate WC and shower lead through to the seclusion of a private outdoor shower garden. They can accommodate up to 3 adults and a child, or 2 adults and 2 children.
Presidential Pool Villa – 468 m² with deck & pool (284 m² villa only) – For the ultimate villa experience, the Presidential Villa offers magnificent accommodation, overlooking the beach and ocean, while enjoying wonderful views of the magical Zanzibar sunset. The oversized living space features a spacious dining room in addition to the lounge area, and leads onto a vast deck, complete with day-beds, parasols and the focal point, a 35m² swimming pool. Both the large master suite and smaller junior suite feature en-suite bathrooms, each with an additional outdoor shower and stunning views of the azure waters of Zanzibar. The villa can accommodate up to 4 adults and 2 children.
Restaurants and Bars
The Residence offers a gastronomic journey in the two restaurants or in the intimacy of your villa.
The Dining Room – with spectacular views over the beach and ocean, this is a relaxed yet sophisticated place to linger over breakfast or lunch. The a la carte menu features tempting, light options for lunch, but when night falls the menu reflects the spice and culture which Zanzibar is so famous for combining fresh foods and meats with Omani and African flavours.
The Pavilion Restaurant – situated in the lush grounds offering a culinary journey from the Mediterranean to the Middle East embracing the flavours of all the countries in between.
On the Beach or at the Poolside – for those who do not want to leave their sun lounger, lunch is delivered in a rattan basket. The menu includes a selection of salads, fresh seafood, fritters and pasta.
In-villa private dining – for complete seclusion, meals are available in the privacy of guests’ own villas. Romantic torch-lit dinners can be arranged on the terrace with the backdrop of the Zanzibari sunset – a truly unforgettable experience.
The Dining Room Bar – Peaceful and unhurried, The Dining Room Bar is adjacent to the beautiful swimming pool and offers the perfect place to enjoy the cooling breeze and wonderful views of the beach and the Zanzibar sunset.
